CV writing and improvement
Build a clear, professional CV that presents your experience in the strongest possible way.
A CV gets a matter of seconds on the first pass. In that time a recruiter is deciding whether your experience fits the role — so everything that matters has to be visible quickly, and everything that doesn't is getting in the way.
We'll go through your CV properly: what to lead with, how to describe your experience in terms of what you achieved, and how to lay it out so it's easy to read on screen and holds up in an applicant tracking system.
What we cover
- Structure and layout
- The order sections appear in, how much space each one earns, and a format that reads cleanly rather than cleverly.
- Turning duties into achievements
- "Responsible for a team of eight" tells an employer very little. We'll help you show the result you delivered and the scale you delivered it at.
- Tailoring without rewriting
- How to keep one strong CV and adjust it quickly for each role, rather than starting again every time.
- The awkward bits
- Career breaks, short stints, changing sector, coming up through an apprenticeship — how to present them honestly and confidently.
What it costs
Ways to work on this
These are the options that include it. If you’re not sure which is right, ask — we’d rather tell you than have you pay for more than you need.
Common questions
- What should I send before the session?
- Your current CV in whatever state it's in — a rough one is fine — and, if you have it, an advert for the kind of role you're going for.
- Should my CV be one page or two?
- Two is right for most people with a few years' experience. What matters far more is that the strongest evidence is on the first page.
- Can you help with my LinkedIn profile too?
- Yes. It's a different job to a CV and we can cover how the two should work together in the same session.
